On Sat. November 27th, 2010, I participated in painting for charity (The Community Food Drive) at Markville Mall. Large canvases were set up for painting and later made into boxes that woulld hold donated food items. Lots of people turned up and all had a blast! Organized by "Paintlounge" it was a great event.
"Please visit the Guest Lounge (beside Toys R Us at Markville) before December 23rd to donate food to the Markham Food Bank, you can also leave a food donation at your local library. Many thanks to Winnie/Markville, Beverley and Samantha/Paintlounge, the MTAC team, and the guest artists Vita Keeling, Audra Noble, Vera Walton, Samantha Rodin, Franklin Beecham and Glenn Bernabe. "

I was surprised to find out today, that I have been chosen by the show visitors as the most favourite artist at the show! There were 600 votes, all together, (30 artists), so I feel it's quite an honour to be chosen as number 1.
Thank you to all of you who supported me one way or anothother, it means a lot and I truly appreciate you and all the good comments I got.

The show has moved to a new location - Main Street, Unionville.
It's a smaller space at the "Mill" but cozy and bright with a fabulous selection of original art by local artists. The front entrance facing Main Street makes it easily accessible and seen by people walking by. Timing is also very good as the Unionville festival will be on the weekend of 5th -6th. The street will be filled with musicians and people happily browsing in the festive atmosphere. The good weather will also help keep the atmosphere relaxed and casual.
I've hung my paintings and feel pleased with how everything looks. I've already had some positive feedback, esp. on my latest painting!
So come and see for yourself, enjoy the unique experience that unionville has to offer.
VIP reception is on wednesday evening 6-10pm - wine and snacks will be served. All the artists will be there and you will have a chance to talk to any of them about their work.

It was my first time exhibiting at the Heintzman House, and I was impressed with how well organized the show was. The VIP reception on friday evening was great. People arriving to the front entrance of the beautiful historical house were greeted by mounties and volunteers. Throughout the evening, wine and snacks were served and classical music was played by live entertainers The Mayor of Markham and Mp's were present and had some encouraging words for the crowd..
The mansion housed 40 artists for the weekend, with beautiful displays of original works of art.
I had my display set up upstairs in one of the rooms, by chance together with my friend Helen. Many visitors, amongst them a lot of artists came by, and had very positive comments about my work. They liked my unique style and asked how I painted, etc. It was very interesting and I felt happy and inspired. I sold a painting at the very beginning of the show to someone who absolutely loved it! Most of the comments were on the energy in my paintings and the dynamic colours.
There were almost 2000 visitors over the weekend!
Thank you to my friends who came to support me and to all who came to look and get inspired.
